To start with, I'm in love with bel canto opera, and Bellini is one of my favorite composers. It is sad that he died early, but if he had a chance to live longer and composed more works, I would probably go bankrupt buying recordings of him! In these latter days I find myself wondering why I had never played Casta diva before - it's incomparable aria, I can say it with even more certainty after playing it. What amazed me most is that a singer enjoyed the rehearsal as much as I did, and judging by a score, it should've been a real challenge for her! (Honestly, I even felt a sense of relief that I'm a pianist.) I heartily recommend this piece - rarely had I have better times than while playing it!
